What the checklist normally includes
The written scope is built from the property and the inventory rather than a generic list, but most Oxford end of tenancy cleans cover the areas below. Items are added or removed in the quotation so there is no doubt about what has been agreed.
- Kitchen: cupboards and drawers inside and out, worktops, splashbacks, sink and taps, hob, oven and extractor, fridge and freezer interior once defrosted, dishwasher and washing machine seals and filters
- Bathrooms: bath, shower screen and tray, basin, WC, tiles and grout, limescale removal, mirrors, extractor covers and chrome fittings
- Living areas and bedrooms: skirting boards, doors, frames and handles, switches and sockets, radiators, window sills, internal glass where agreed, built-in wardrobes and shelving
- Floors throughout: vacuuming including edges and under furniture that can be moved safely, hard floors mopped with the right product for the surface
- Optional items quoted separately: carpet cleaning, interior window cleaning at height, external areas, removal of leftover belongings or waste
02
Working with landlords and letting agents
We are used to handing a property back to a managing agent rather than the person who booked the clean. Keys can be collected from and returned to an agent's office by arrangement, and timing is planned around the check-out appointment rather than the other way round.
On request we provide a dated invoice and the completed checklist as evidence that a professional end of tenancy clean took place. If the inventory clerk raises a cleaning point within 48 hours of our clean, and the property has not been reoccupied in the meantime, we return and put it right without charge.
03
What the property needs to be ready
An end of tenancy clean works best in an empty home. Belongings should be removed, the fridge and freezer defrosted in advance, and any repairs or decorating completed before we arrive so that dust is not reintroduced afterwards.
Electricity and hot water need to be on. Where contractors are still finishing, we recommend our after builders or post-renovation cleaning first, with the end of tenancy clean as the final stage.
04
A fixed fee, agreed before the clean
Every end of tenancy quotation is fixed in writing after we have understood the property: the number of rooms and bathrooms, the kitchen appliances, the floor types, the present condition and the agent's checklist. There is no hourly meter and no surprise at the end.
Larger houses, heavy limescale, neglected ovens or properties left in poor condition are quoted honestly at the outset rather than reduced to a low headline figure that cannot be delivered properly.
05
Handover cleaning for sales, new owners and guests
The service can support a private owner preparing to sell or let a carefully maintained home, a resident leaving a property, a relocation arrangement or a manager coordinating an incoming occupant.
It is particularly useful when one person needs a documented cleaning scope and a dependable point of contact. OCG is not a volume letting-turnover platform; we accept handovers where the property, timetable and expected standard can be assessed properly.
06
Keys, timing and responsibility
The handover plan identifies who provides keys, who can approve a change and when access ends. Tight same-day schedules need contingency for delayed removals, late contractors and agent inspections.
OCG remains responsible for the cleaning scope it accepts. We cannot guarantee a deposit return, sale completion, independent inventory result or the correction of pre-existing damage and maintenance defects.
Questions, answered
Useful details before you enquire.
01How much does an end of tenancy clean cost in Oxford?+
It depends on the size and condition of the property and the appliances included. We give a fixed written fee after a short conversation and a few photographs of the home, so the figure you receive is the figure you pay.
02Do you clean the oven and the inside of the fridge?+
Yes. Oven, hob and extractor cleaning and the interior of the fridge and freezer are normally part of an end of tenancy scope. The freezer must be defrosted before the visit.
03Can you collect keys from the letting agent?+
Yes. Key collection and return through an agent's office can be arranged, and we plan the clean around the check-out inspection.
04Will you provide something for the agent or landlord?+
On request we supply a dated invoice and the completed checklist as a record of the professional clean.
05What if the inventory clerk finds something missed?+
Tell us within 48 hours of the clean. Provided the property has not been reoccupied, we return and put the point right without charge.
06Do you also do carpet cleaning?+
Carpet cleaning is quoted separately where the carpets need it to meet the check-in standard. Tell us at the enquiry stage and we will include it in the written fee or recommend a specialist.
07How far in advance should I book?+
As early as the move-out date is known. End of tenancy cleans cluster around month ends and the academic calendar in Oxford, so earlier booking gives the best choice of dates.
08Can you complete the clean on moving day?+
Sometimes, but only with a realistic gap between removals and handover. Larger or more detailed properties are safer to schedule with additional contingency.
09Does the property need to be empty?+
An empty property allows the most complete access. If furniture or belongings remain, they must be disclosed so the accessible scope and result can be quoted accurately.
