Why clean before belongings arrive
An empty or nearly empty property gives access to floor edges, cupboard interiors and surfaces that may soon be covered. It also allows any concern about condition, residue or damage to be identified before the household is fully unpacked.
The ideal visit takes place after sellers, tenants or contractors have left and before removals begin. If the timetable overlaps, we define which rooms can be released and protected first.

A checklist for the actual property
Move-in needs differ. A recently completed new-build may need fine dust and label assessment, while an older property may need detailed kitchen, bathroom and cupboard cleaning. We quote what is present rather than applying one standard package to every key collection.

Access, keys and utilities
We confirm who will provide access, whether parking or concierge arrangements apply and when keys must be returned. Water, safe power and suitable lighting should be available for the work.
If the sale or tenancy completion time is uncertain, build enough room into the schedule. Delayed keys can remove the time needed for a careful clean before removals arrive.

New-build and renovated homes
Where building work has just finished, the property may require After Builders or Post-Renovation Cleaning rather than an ordinary move-in clean. Fine dust, grout haze, paint residue and protective films should be assessed before the service is named and priced.
New materials also require correct care information. The installer or developer should address construction defects and residue that cannot be removed safely through normal cleaning.

A clean start, with realistic boundaries
Move-In Cleaning improves the hygiene, finish and readiness of the agreed areas. It cannot repair damage, remove every permanent stain, certify appliances or guarantee hidden areas that were inaccessible during assessment.
We record the included work in a fixed quotation. If the property is left in a materially different condition from that described, we discuss priorities and options before proceeding beyond the agreed plan.

01When should I arrange move-in cleaning?+
Ideally after you have secure access and the previous occupants or trades have left, but before removals and furniture arrive. Allow contingency if completion or key release could be delayed.
02Can you clean cupboards and wardrobes inside?+
Yes, when they are empty, accessible and included in the quotation. Internal storage can add significant work, so it should be listed rather than assumed.
03Can you clean before I collect the keys?+
Only with authorised access arranged by the owner, agent, concierge or another responsible party. OCG cannot enter without clear permission and practical key arrangements.
04Is carpet cleaning included?+
Routine vacuuming can be included. Wet extraction or specialist carpet treatment is a separate service requirement and is not automatically part of move-in cleaning.
05What if furniture has already arrived?+
We can still assess the home, but access will be reduced and the scope may need to focus on reachable areas or follow a staged room plan.
